The study of 27 patients with malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum compared with normal Controls, showed: a) lower serum folate leveis in the group of patients; b) a drop in the serum folate leveis during the first eight days of treatment, interpreted as due to the folate mobilisation by the increment of erythropoiesis; c) normal erythrocyte folate leveis.
