Diphteria, tetanus, anti-snake venom sera and Diphteria-Pertussis-Tetanus vaccine were submited to different intensities of gamma radiation, in order to: verify the resistance of their specific activities to the action of gamma rays; evaluate the possibility of using this type of energy to sterilize some heterogenous hyperimmune sera and vaccines commonly utilized in Public Health. The results, according to the range employed, show the possibility of sterilizing the products tested, without any alteration to specific biological and chemical properties.
