A new endemic focus of schistosomiasis mansoni in the town of Bebedouro, S. Paulo, Brazil, is described. Two hundred and twenty-one cases are analyzed according to sex, age, and origin (autochthonous or not), the factors involved in the emergence of the focus are discussed and the necessity for control measure is emphasized.
