Abstract
The text resumes the Latin American dialogue on "Thinking from the South"and inserts the Brazilian scientific community in this critical perspective on Eurocentrism. Reflecting on the theme of diversity, it argues in favour of ethnography as a crucial way of understanding the conflicts and transformations that permeate contemporary social processes.
