Access and user embracement in prenatal care through the experiences of pregnant women in Primary Care

This study aims to analyze the access and user embracement in prenatal care through the experiences of 13 pregnant women. The material was obtained through interviews and analyzed from the perspective of discourse analysis. Results indicate two themes: the first one approaches the access of assistance services in prenatal care; the second one focuses on questions related to the interaction and communication between the pregnant woman and the health professional who conducts prenatal care. We concluded that prenatal care is not limited to the reception of pregnant women at the doorway of health services, because it includes the notion of access. This study highlights the importance of using 'lightweight technologies' in interpersonal relations processed in care, assuming a prominent role in reorienting the health care model.
