Sustainable Development and Health Promotion: local’s agenda implementation and autonomy production

ABSTRACT

This study described and analyzed the first stage of the project ‘Sustainable Development and Health Promotion: the implementation of Healthy Cities Agenda Integrated to Agenda 21 in traditional communities from protected areas of Bocaina’s Mosaic’, an action research that aims to contribute to the promotion of life quality through the collective implementation of a strategic local agenda and the promotion of a sustainable economic solidarity. Ecosystem and communicative strategic planning approaches were used, as well as participatory technologies and different qualitative techniques. It was concluded that the Agenda was implemented and integrated into the Bocaina’s Mosaic Agenda in a participatory manner. The implementation of the project was consistent with the principles and categories adopted, and resulted in greater empowerment of local people and the strengthening of intersectoral cooperation.
