ABSTRACT
The objective of this work was to analyze the work processes of doctors and nurses that develop some alternative strategy in the Family Health Units of the city of João Pessoa, Paraíba. We used interviews and discourse analysis technique for the construction of empirical categories. It was revealed the occurrence of three categories considered by some traditional models of care: autonomy, in tegrity and empowerment. It was also possible to grasp a concern ofthe professionals interviewed with the disruption of traditional practices earlier in anticipation of changes in the process of work and seeking new ways to promote health.
