Black youth genocide: notes on the conception of the Sociology of dispositional action

Abstract

Recognizing modernity/colonialism as a phenomenon that mobilized the racial signifier as one of the guiding assumptions for the domination forms, this article attempts a theoretical understanding the of the black youth genocide in the light of the dispositional sociology action, where its originality lies, since research in the field of public security tends towards approaches based on or mirroring the theory of rational choice and analytical models related to "economism". Based on key concepts such as habitus, field and capital, the aim is to develop an analytical model that highlights the organic nature of what we call "racial capital" operating as a dispositional analytical mechanism that reveals those fundamental aspects in the shaping of Brazilian society, a social resource that makes a certain amount of control available in shared actions and structures, and which acts as the ruler of the black population exploitation and the genocide carried out by the State. As an ongoing project, it aims to point the way to applied and theoretical research in the field of public policies relating to security, violence and inequalities.
