Abstract
The main argument of this work is that the State, perceived as part of a social totality, is a social relation and, because of that, there is a need for a relational (re)reading to think about the correlation State/society. Assuming that, the discussion will be discussed as agent and field and, starting from the historical institutionalism tradition, the autonomy of the State and its institutional changes will be thought. By doing that, the aim is to bring to debate some considerations for a theoretical discussion, with analytical implications, from a relational perspective of the State.
