The present article analyzes the territorial results of the environment and development policies and the territorial organization of the Brazilian Amazon until 1970. The relation between environmental programs, the building of infrastructures and productive systems is evaluated by taking into account the governmental and private investments, the growth of protected areas and the implantation of the new "ecological corridors".
