Abstract
The present work deals with an investigation of the relations between neoliberalism, the State of Exception and social control in contemporary Brazil. Thus, the problem that moves this article arises: in the face of elements of exception and neoliberalism, can it be said that social control is already a myth, a mere empty idea of meaning? The hypothesis is that yes, it is already possible to talk about the decay of social control, mainly through one of its main mechanisms, access to information. The working method is the hypothetical deductive, testing the hypothesis based on the arguments developed.
