Media and sexuality: gay relationship in the magazine TPM

Homosexual relations are gaining greater visibility in the media, which is constituted as a rich collection of customs and values , documenting and constructing social reality. Nevertheless, women's magazines do not address the issue frequently. Thus, this article aims to analyze how lesbian relationships are presented in the magazine TPM, only Brazilian publication that has an ongoing column written by an openly gay journalist. Using techniques of discourse analysis, we investigated whether the column, named "Coluna do Meio", signed by Milly Lacombe, presents a traditional model of relationship, which implies stability and monogamy, which may make the subject more widely accepted by readers of that magazine.
