This paper applies and discusses the application to Brazil of the Barometer of Sustainability, a two-coordinated measure of the well-being of Nations, including values for both human and ecosystem well-being and progress toward sustainable development. The main objective was to aggregate a set of sustainable development indicators in thematic and dimensional indices, to assess sustainability. Performance scales were created for each indicator. In this way it was possible to compare and aggregate indicators. The Barometer approach shows the overall sustainability of Brazil ("intermediate", near "almost insustainable").
