Abstract
In this review, the book Como o racismo criou o Brasil (How racism created Brazil), by Jessé Souza, which proposes the concept of multidimensional racism and defends the centrality of racial racism to explain the formation of Brazil and its main dilemmas, is analyzed. Therefore, in the first part, the elements that compose the three parts of the book are exposed. In the second, the contributions to the theoretical explanation about racism are presented, but also the limitations of the book are emphasized, which, despite proposing a multidimensional interpretation, offers a one-dimensional reading about racism and Brazilian dilemmas.
