A “post-colonial Marx”? Revolutions and colonialisms on the global South

Abstract

The purpose of this text is to point out the theoretical and empirical richness of the research in Marx nas margens, by Kevin Anderson, as we consider that this work presents a new cycle of discussion by reflecting on the idea that Marx’s dialectical theory was not reduced to the issue of classes and “universal” stages of capitalist development, as is often pointed out. First, we will highlight the mobilization of sources, the methodology of analysis, and the intellectual and political tradition in which the work and the author are inserted. Following that, we will present the chapters of the book and, finally, a brief commentary on some challenges that the book raises for new research agendas that, possibly, could effectively bring together Marxist tradition and post/decolonial perspective.
