Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic is an unprecedented global event whose effects will extend over time in the most diverse spheres of life in society. This dossier aims to go beyond description of events and advance the empirical analysis of the effects of the pandemic by facing the theoretical and methodological uncertainties that cross different research agendas. It presents articles that, in a plural and complementary way, discuss the role of the State in the tackling the health crisis, the (re)production of inequalities, the uses of science and sociocultural changes in the pandemic context.
