Use of detached minicuttings of forest species for pathogenicity tests

ABSTRACT

Rot and death of minicuttings have been verified in the production of clonal seedlings of black wattle, eucalypt, yerba mate and pine. However, several fungi are routinely found in association with the disease, making its etiology difficult. Thus, a methodology was developed to conduct the pathogenicity test with fungi isolated from minicuttings with rot. The methodology was considered efficient, rapid and easy to apply for determining the pathogenicity of fungi in detached minicuttings.
