Controle social: notas em torno de uma noção polêmica

This article summarizes the history of the notion of social control, from its roots in the classical discourse of Émile Durkheim on social integration to the creation and use of the term in American sociology. It also examines the juxtaposition between Michel Foucault's reflections on power and the current state of this debate within the sphere of contemporary social thought.
