Thinking gender: dialogues with Social Work

Abstract

The article presents the three most common approaches to gender in research in the field of Brazilian social service. They are: Marxism, social relations of sex and intersectionality. While the first two are more recurring, the latter begins to enter the productions of the area. The text discusses each of them, shows their potentialities and limits and establishes some connections between them. Lastly, it points to gaps in the investigation of gender in social work.
