This article aims at presenting an evaluation of the impacts of assistance benefits on indigenous peoples. It was based on a case study in the Bororó and Jaguapirú settlements in the city of Dourados-MS. Questionnaires and interviews with disabled indigenous people who are provided with the Benefit of Continuous Provision (Benefício de Prestação Continuada - BPC) were the techniques used. That benefit is provided in the Organic Law of Social Assistance (Lei Orgânica de Assistência Social - Loas). The hypothesis is that the benefit cannot solve that population's problems, but it can improve the living conditions of the people provided with the benefit and their families.
