Abstract:
In the practices of municipal secretariat managers of Social Assistance Policy trained in Social Service, gender, profession and Social Policy dimensions can be observed. The article aims to analyze the actions of these secretariats in the State of Pará considering the experiences of managing social workers in the period 1997-2020. Despite the changes in this Policy and training guidelines for Social Work, professional performance remains based on the contradictions of Brazilian Social Security.
