Abstract:
After 80 years of the presence of Social Work in Brazil, we evaluate the closing of a historical period opened by the bourgeois autocracy crisis and the democratization process following it, as well as the denouement interrupting the thirteen-year PT (Partido dos Trabalhadores - Workers´ Party) government class coalition. It is stressed the understanding of the character of the bourgeois state and of the nature and limits of the hegemony dispute prevailing in the progressive forces analyzed.
