Abstract:
The article reflects on the World Bank (WB) policies directed at higher education in Latin America, with an emphasis on Brazil, analyzing how they align with Human Capital Theory (HCT). A bibliographic and documentary research was conducted, based on WB reports. From a critical perspective, it analyzed the relationship between work and education, up to the HCT guidelines in international organizations within Brazilian educational policy, pointing to an education commodity captured as social (re)production for maintaining the hegemony of big capital.
