The recent and increasing consolidation of the Programs for Conditioned Income Transfer (Programas de Transferencia de Renta Condicionada - PTRC) as the main instrument to fight poverty in Latin America is the starting point of the following thinking. Their implementation implies a restructuring of assistance policies, launching or modifying technical and institutional devices that are part of the new political engineering of social protection. The analysis focused on a case study: the Equity Plan - a new system of family allocations.
