Abstract:
This article aims to characterize the implementation of the racial quotas policy in public tenders, instituted in Brazil through federal law n. 12,990/2014, which reserved 20% of vacancies in public tenders for black people. After detailing the gaps in the process of implementing the racial quotas policy in public tenders, the article suggests a set of measures for more black people to access public office and, therefore, contribute to the necessary and urgent anti-racist struggle in Brazil.
