The ontological character of the social determination of health

Abstract:

The aims of this article is to reflect on a key idea brought by the discussion on the social determination of health, demonstrating its ontological character. We clarify what an ontological approach consists of. We then recovered original propositions that present the idea of social determination of health linked to the generic dynamics of the mode of production. Finally, we criticize the theory of the SDH, pointing out its fragmented character, representing a return to the gnosiological approach.
