Setbacks in the Science, Technology and Innovation financing in Brazil: the CNPq case

Abstract:

The article analyzes the financing of the Science, Technology and Innovation Program of CNPq, between the years 2013 and 2021, showing the direction of resources and the priorities assumed before and after the Constitutional Amendment 95/2016. It is a documentary research, with a quantitative approach and descriptive statistical analysis. We evidence a decreasing trend in spending - in 2021 it corresponded to 43% of spending in 2013. The reduction of resources for science prevents Brazil from advancing in the production of knowledge.
