There are many ethical theories and theoretical analysis models that can guide our professional behavior and existence. Even considering that philosophical and theoretical references can help us to critically think, it is always good to keep in mind that the usual application of a methodical reference is never a satisfactory substitute for critical intelligence. However, it is never simple to answer the questions: how should the nursing professionals be in their professional practice? How should nursing professionals act towards others and towards themselves? With this in mind, the proposal is to contribute with ethical foundations that make it possible to reflect about the way we have been acting and being as health professionals. The intention is to discuss the client - health professional relationship since it is in this daily practice that the moral elements of conduct are integrated.
