The activities in the waiting room require knowledge and abilities in dealing with human groups. The objectives of this study are: to describe significant aspects of experiences in waiting room groups and to discuss these aspects in the social and cultural perspective of complexity in health. This study is a report on the experience group teaching in the waiting room. It is founded upon teacher experiences and observations in basic health units. These group resources favor the understanding of the clients' representations, making the interaction and the exercise of educational practices in health possible.
