This study synthesizes the results about how management strategies for human resources are processed at Psychosocial Care Centers, focusing on some aspects of policies for Betterment of Work Relationships in the Brazilian Health Care System. It is an exploratory study with a quantitative approach. In order to collect the data, a questionnaire was applied to workers at 3 (three) Psychosocial Care Centers. The sample was composed of 55 health care workers. The data was analyzed with the aid of SPSS-version 11.0 software. The results indicate that there persists a flexibility of work relationships, characterized by diversification of work ties and social unprotection, not to mention unfavorable work conditions, referred to by the informants of the study. In this context, it is concluded that the elaboration and/or implementation of public policies based on management of human resources in the mental health area is urged, aiming at the reversion of this situation.
