Rethinking interdisciplinarity and the teaching of nursing

The objective of this article is to identify the interdisciplinary effects on the teaching of nursing and to identify the interdisciplinary challenges in building the process of nursing care. Some historical references about the construction of the teaching of nursing in Brazil and its connection with the interdisciplinarity paradigm are pointed out. It emphasises the difficulty in working the borderlines of disciplines and the integration proposed by intediciplinarity and the teaching of nursing. The integration, the construction of human care concepts and their ethical and esthetical questions, combined with instrumental sciences are challenges of interdisciplinarity which guarantee the enlargement of human care actions and nursing.
