My aim in this paper is to discuss the current notion of “freedom of expression”, usually associated with internet writing practices, as for instance in blogs. From the perspective of Discourse Analysis, I am interested in examining issues of linguistic and discursive order which may favor the emergence of certain utterances online amidst the plot of the multiplicity of social relations which condition the sayings of contemporaneity. In particular, I try to characterize the conditions of production of language online, in the constitution of space, understood as a social issue (Santos, 1996, 2008), in its relation with History, understood as discontinuities (Foucault, 1997).
