Lessons about the contentment in medieval historical narratives

This article examines somes incursions of portuguese chroniclers of 15th century aiming to define values relating to the conduct of noblemen and governers. Considering the historical importance acquired from the portuguese production in the 15th century, not only because it starts being produced in national language but above all because it starts to be seen as a way to consolided a certain image of governers and government, this text raises notes from these chroniclers about recreation and pleasure forms that should be pursued by the most important members of the Middle Age. This forms included sports practice and entertainment, but two fundamental point in virtuous image consolidation couldn't be forgotten: the selfrestraint and the apliccation to the public business.
