The article analyzes the solicitations of concession of lands of the Capitania do Rio Grande to the last half of the century XVII, aiming at to demonstrate the settler's vision regarding the present nature in the interior. Of the analysis of those sources, taking the relationship between space and nature as focus, is evidenced the colonist's different perceptions concerning the lands that were being appropriate and of the natural elements there presents, that go being omitted to the measure that the colonial system moves forward on the interior.
