The work consists in a discussion of the thesis of neutrality of science and technology, which takes as its starting point some formulations in the Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais. Neutrality is analised into three components: imparciality, applied neutrality and cognitive neutrality. It is shown that imparciality must be maintained, to avoid falling into relativism, but applied neutrality cannot be sustained, neither as fact nor as value.
