Coelho Netto, the “man with a profession”

Abstract

This article dedicates itself to the examination of the social, scholar and cultural experiences that marked Henrique Maximiano Coelho Netto’s trajectories and are the basis of its career strategies as well as its conceptions of intellectual work. Mobilizing a network of biographical and autobiographical materials, we examine conditions and dispositions that contributes to form a specific position in which Coelho Netto is an exemplary case.
