Racionalidade e tragédia cultural no pensamento de Max Weber

The text argues that there is a close relationship between rationality and tragedy in Weberian thought. Such a relationship can only be understood in the context of modernity which is ruled by a "world domination rationalism". I will try to make this relationship evident by relating the tragic character of culture to the rationalistic method, to modern rationalizations and, finally, to ethical responsibility.

Max Weber; rationality; tragedy; modernity; ethics
