Analysis of the pilgrimage in the festivities of the Divine Eternal Father in Trindade/GO

Abstract:

This study aimed to understand the representations of the pilgrimage in honor of the Divine Eternal Father in Trinity/GO, from the perspective of the pilgrims who perform a walk from the following dimensions: identity, religious, tourist and economics. As methodological procedures, the qualitative approach, based on a field, exploratory and descriptive research. The instruments for data collection were semi-structured interviews, conducted by guidelines. The technique used for data analysis was Discourse Analysis. As a result, the pilgrimage presents itself as a ritual marked by the sacrifice and suffering of those who undertake this walk. This pilgrim, motivated by faith or family tradition, undertakes this journey with the aim of fulfilling the vows requested or granted, whether they are of an economic nature or even related to diseases or more everyday content. Considering the route traveled as being of a sacred nature, the pilgrim reveals a certain annoyance with the influence of the economic field in the religious sphere and tends to separate the profane and sacred spaces and temporalities, both in the universe of the feast and the walk.
