The article, as an introduction aimed to the course in History, intends to analyze the European historical production, related to the Religious Reformation in the Early Modern Europe. It focuses the more traditional approaches adopted by authors compromised with their own faith and on merely institutional, theological and functional studies. The article points to the attention given by the XXth Century historians, to the "pre-reformation" context, to the profound faith of the time, and to the connection of the religious, cultural, political and social aspects of life in Modern Europe.
