Time to conclude, time to restart!

We are concluding the 4th issue of 2002 of the new REEUSP in 2003 with a great expectation: there will be novelties in the layout and in the presentation of the articles... watch out for it!

In this issue, besides the articles, the magazine has an index of the publications in 2002 and the names of the consultants who revise our original material, collaborating to raise the quality of the articles in our magazine.

The quality has been maintained by Brazilian Nursing, which is concerned with ecological issues, more tender care for children in shelters (so that they choose to leave the streets), with home monitoring of diabetes patients (for a suitable control of glucose), with the technique of intermittent bladder self-catheters in patients with injured spines (teaching the practice to patients beginning in this therapy).

This issue also has a discussion on the training of nurses in the view of contemporary educators, philosophers and academics; the performance expected from students and the sequence of activities built to teach nursing care to adults and the elderly with skin alterations; a description of the outlook for families at hospital discharge of patients with coronary artery disease; an analysis of individual and group behaviors during duty transitions in hospitals; the description of the Copiadora CAPS Project (Professor Luis Cerqueira Psycho-Social Care center) for those who use mental health services.

Our colleagues also analyzed the incidence of work accidents caused by perforating-cutting materials and biological fluids in health students and workers; the scientific production on sexually transmitted diseases in 14 Brazilian Nursing journals, covering the last 66 years; chronic pain as a way of narrowing the horizon of possibilities and transformation of the existence of human beings.

Other studies describe the victims of traffic accidents cared for on the Tietê and Pinheiros ring-roads, according to "Revised Trauma Score", and the news about the Alfredo Pinto School of Nursing (former Escola Profissional de Enfermeiros e Enfermeiras — EPEE) in a descriptive historical study.

We would like to thank the authors for choosing this magazine to publish their research, our consultants for improving its consults, and our readers who, with a critical eye on our pages, enable us to rise to new goals and achievements. We will continue to count on all of you in 2003.

Good reading!
