Experience, memory and narration: the film Narradores de Javé from the benjaminian perspective

Abstract:

It reflects the story of the film Narradores de Javé through Benjamin's concepts of experience, memory and narration. It highlights the existing dialogism between the concepts, showing Benjamin's anti-conformist position in relation to the modern and capitalist world. It reveals that Narradores de Javé illustrates aspects of Benjamin's thinking centered on the communitarian, memorialistic and relational experience, interpreting this experience as a way of confronting domination, both the one enacted in the plot and the one experienced in everyday life. Finally, it considers that the film Narradores de Javé and Benjamin's thought offer formative subsidies in favor of critical awareness and the protagonism of the subjects, also proposing a brief approximation with the ideas of social protagonism and social information considered by Gomes in Information Science.
