Neste trabalho as autoras identificam as dificuldades encontradas pelos enfermeiros no início das atividades profissionais e apresentam a avaliação desses profissionais quanto aos subsídios fornecidos pelos cursos de Graduação em Enfermagem.

In this study the authors identify the nurses' difficulties at the begining of their professional activities, and evaluate the type of education offered by their undergraduate nursing program.

A autora apresenta um estudo, onde, através da utilização do "brinquedo terapêutico", pode obter elementos para a compreensão das necessidades da criança hospitalizada.

Play in hospitals is a resource that facilitates the child's experience of hospitalization. Furthermore it is a valiable instrument of information to the health staff. The author presents a study where she can have elements to the comprehension of hospitalized child's needs through therapeutic play.

São apresentados os procedimentos básicos de assistência de enfermagem ao prematuro, a saber: observação nas primeiras 24 horas de vida, hidratação, alimentação com mamadeira, alimentação por sonda nasogástrica, cuidados após a alimentação, técnica do banho na incubadora, cuidado com a pele, cuidado com o coto umbilical, cuidado do prematuro com monilíase, diarréia, vômito, problemas respiratórios, cuidado do prematuro em oxigenoterapia, limpeza e conservação da incubadora.

Abstract in English:

The basics procedures of nursing care to the premature are presented here. They are: observation of the premature during the first 24 hours of life, hidratation by bottle, feeding by nosogastric tube, care of premature after feeding, tecnnique of bathing the premature in the incubator, care of premature skin to avoid from infection, care of the umbilical stump, care of premature with moniliasis, with respiratory distress, with diarrhea, with vomitus, cleaning and preservation of the incubator, care of the premature who is receving oxigen therapy, control of humidity of the incubator, care of the premature under phototherapy, care with the phototherapy equipment.

O "Projeto CARI" tem por finalidade diminuir as taxas de morbi-mortalidade infantil através de: acompanhamento de crescimento; incentivo ao aleitamento natural; uso de terapia de reidratação oral; eprática de imunizações, em comunidades infantis. Sugerem-se ações que tem por objetivo capacitar a mãe nas quatro técnicas.

Abstract in English:

The authors present a plan they call "CARI Project". "CARI Project" is a work with babies and their mothers in children's institutions. Its objective is to decrease the infant morbidity and mortality rates by means of: observation of the growth measurements, stimulating breast-feeding, oral hydratation and immunizations. The teaching of the four techniques to mothers is suggested.

A partir dos motivos que levaram o grupo de docentes da disciplina Enfermagem Pediátrica da Escola de Enfermagem da USP a adotar uma nova metodologia de ensino, as autoras apresentam as atuais características do curso Enfermagem Pediátrica I — nível graduação, bem como a forma em que os principais momentos do curso são implementados.

Based upon the motives that led the group of instructors of pediatric nursing to adopt a new teaching methodology, the authors present the current characteristics of the Pediatric Nursing baccalaureate course of the University of São Paulo School of Nursing as well as the form in which the course is being implemented.
