New management board

EDITORIAL

New management board

It is an honor to take over the position of Scientific Editor in Chief of the Brazilian Annals of Dermatology - but at the same time we realize the huge responsibility it means. After all, our journal was founded in 1925 and since then, distinguished colleagues have taken the position of editors, all of them role models of brilliant performance and marked dedication.

The current board counts on the participation of competent Assistant Editors Ph.D. Renan Bonamigo and Vitor Reis, in addition to the support of the dedicated team of the journal formed by Vanessa Zampier, Nazareno de Souza and Samuel Peixoto. Together, we intend to work to have the Brazilian Annals of Dermatology as a reason for pride among associate members.

Currently, the Brazilian Annals of Dermatology is a journal indexed in a number of databases, to wit SciELO, Scopus, Embase, Latindex, LILACS, Periódica, TDB, Web of Science. They represent one further validation, a seal of quality reassuring authors who submit their studies. We emphasize that we would like our journal to be an important source of scientific information. To facilitate submission of papers, as of the beginning of 2009, we will have online submission, a more objective and quicker process. Thus, submitted papers may be timely and easily tracked down by the authors.

To further enhance the visibility of our papers and also to enable exchange with other publications, we will have online full articles available in English - the language of science - on the website of the journal (www.anaisdedermatologia.org.br). Nevertheless, the printed version in Portuguese will still be sent to all members and to different international centers of dermatology.

In this edition, we are very glad to publish a case report by late Professor Sampaio, who showed his interest in contributing with the Brazilian Annals of Dermatology by submitting this case report, which he told us in Fortaleza, the last congress of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology. In the beginning of October, already weakened by the disease, the brilliant master welcomed us in his home and reinforced his wish, which was again repeated in his last days, when he was hospitalized and terminally ill, according to his assistant Dr Christiane D. Piazza.

The recently created section of Dermatopathology will be still another scientific space to further enrich and contribute to our specialized training.

Finally, we would like to invite you all to submit your papers for publication so that we can keep on improving the journal quality. It is also key to remind colleagues that, upon writing your

excellent papers, to cite Brazilian Annals of Dermatology in the references, so that we can increase the impact factor and contribute to take our journal to the top of the world scientific publications. We are on the way to get there.
