Foreword
It is a great pleasure for D.E.L.T.A. adds this special issue to the several tributes to the great linguist, professor and human being, Lucia Maria Pinheiro Lobato. Besides her family, her premature death is deeply felt by all her friends, colleagues and students, in all realms of life, especially in the Brazilian linguistic community to which she had a permanent contribution both with her publications and the development of new linguists and to the ABRALIN, the Brazilian Linguistic Association, where she was president. Her academic production was systematic, starting with her doctorate in the early 70's, working initially at UFRJ and afterwards, for 30 years, at UNB. The bibliography she produced is compulsory in most linguistics graduate courses both on generative grammar and on Portuguese linguistics.
Together with all the other several manifestations in her honour, this volume is an example and witness of her importance.
Delta thanks the organizers of this special issue Ana Paula Scher and Cilene Rodrigues and all those who contributed with articles to this volume.
