A decade and a half of law 11.645/08: What has changed in the bachelor’s degrees at Campus Floresta - UFAC?

ABSTRACT

The text analyzes the insertion of Afro-Brazilian and indigenous themes in the training process of teachers at Campus Floresta, located in the city of Cruzeiro do Sul - Acre, based on Curriculum Pedagogical Projects and curricular components of the degrees belonging to the Center for Education and Letters and the Multidisciplinary Center of the Federal University of Acre. It was verified whether the different teacher training courses comply with the provisions of the National Plan for the Implementation of the National Curriculum Guidelines for the Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations. It is a study with a qualitative approach, anchored in productions on the laws 10.639/03 and 11.645/08, in the National Plan for the Implementation of the National Curriculum Guidelines for the Education of Ethical-Racial Relations and for the Teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture, in the National Education Plan-PNE/2014-2024 and in the National Common Curriculum Base. The research had as theoretical reference: Silva (2003), Morin (2014), Quijano (2010), Mignolo (2008), among others. The results point to a discussion on the still incipient theme in the courses, showing the non-compliance with the National Plan for the Implementation of the National Curriculum Guidelines for the Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations. It was perceived the imminent need to reconfigure the curricula of the teaching degrees, in order to adapt a teacher training focused on this legal and social demand.
