Diversity of soil microorganisms

Abstract

Soil are one of the last frontiers for the biodiversity study and have a extraordinary number of microbial groups. Among them, stands out, the groups that show interaction with plants and can contributed for the sustentability of the agroecosystem. This review reports the discussion of diversity among two groups of soil microorganisms associated with plants, the nitrogen fixing bactérias and the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Obtained evidences, show that the diversity of these two groups of microorganism can make a control the diversity and productivity of the land ecosystems. However, the extension of these results is not well explore, mainly in Brazil, where the most of biomes were not characterized in relation of the biodiversity.

Key words:
nitrogen fixing bactéria; arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi; agroecossistems.
