Editor's letter

Dear all,

There it is, Horticultura Brasileira, volume 34, number 3. In our cover article, Drs. Douglas Bizari and Jean Carlos Cardoso (Department of Rural Development, Centre of Agrarian Sciences, UFSCar) deal with the use of recycled water in horticulture, focusing in the very special opportunity that the production of flowers and ornamental plants in urban circles and surroundings represents for this purpose. On the cover, this possibility coming true: gladiolus production!

In this issue, we say goodbye to our Associate Editor Ronessa Bartolomeu de Souza, who has given a lot to Horticultura Brasileira, for so long. To Ronessa, beyond our very sincere thanks, we wish success in her new mission.

But, if on one hand we say goodbye, on the other hand we say welcome! And there are several people arriving. We welcome our new scientific editors Catariny Cabral Aleman (UFV), Patrícia Angélica Alves Marques (ESALQ), Anderson Fernando Wamser (Epagri), Jackson Kawakami (Unicentro), Leandro Simões Azeredo Gonçalves (UEL) and Rhuanito Soranz Ferrarezi (University of the Virgin Islands). We also welcome Dr. Geraldo Milanez Resende (Embrapa Semi-Arid), who joins the Editorial Board as Associate Editor. We thank you all, new editors, for making your time and expertise available to Horticultura Brasileira. We are proud to have you with us!

Finally, our insistence upon authors to publish in English seems to have found resonance. In this issue, we have 13 articles in English, three from foreign authors. Our compliments to these authors; our encouragement to those who have not chosen this path, yet!

See you in our next issue,

Paulo Melo, editor in chief
