Editor's letter

Dear all,

Here you have Horticultura Brasileira, volume 34, issue 2. As we informed in our previous issue, in 2016 Horticultura Brasileira revisits its origins, bringing back covers dedicated to a complete article, specially commissioned. This time, brilliant colleagues tell the plot of their remarkable history of Capsicum breeding. Illustrating the cover, hot peppers! A genuine Brazilian vegetable, present everywhere, anytime, day-to-day: at home and in restaurants, in bars and cafeterias, in food trucks and bistros; from breakfast to the soup of the wee hours. And, in our cover, peppers do not stand alone, but seasoning - as usual - the frank and honored smile of those who make the several years of decent, virtuous and enthusiastic work of researchers, professors and all extension agents, de facto and/or de jure, so priceless!

We say goodbye in this issue to two distinguished collaborators: Drs. Milza Lana, Associate Editor, and Rosana Rodrigues, Scientific Editor, who leave the Editorial Board, on their request. We have so much to thank to both of them! It will be hard to fill such vacancies!

And we continue urging our authors: write and publish in English! Your results and therefore the impact of your work will benefit a much more people! After all, changing people's lives for the better is not the most worthy purpose, the ethics mater, of our labor?

Until the next number,

Paulo Melo, editor in chief
