EDITOR'S LETTER

Dearest,

Once again, we get to you, bringing a new issue of Horticultura Brasileira. This time, we appear different, with a broader Editorial Board: from now on, Alice Quezado Duval, from Embrapa Vegetables, and Sebastião Wilson Tivelli, from the Agronomic Institute of Campinas, join us as Associate Editors. In addition to them, Ana Cristina Portugal de Carvalho, from Embrapa Tropical Agroindustry; Mônica Sartori de Camargo, from the São Paulo State Agency for the Agribusiness Technology; Rosana Fernandes Otto, from Ponta Grossa State University; Derly Henriques da Silva, from the Federal University of Viçosa; Francisco Antônio Passos, from the Agronomic Institute of Campinas; and Vagner Augusto Benedito, from Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, will contribute as Scientific Editors. These colleagues were invited to update our capacity to promptly and efficiently review papers on biotechnology, crop technology, plant breeding, plant pathology, and soil science and plant nutrition, fields in which we have a mounting demand. Along with our welcome, we thank them for their availability in dedicating competence and time to Horticultura Brasileira. The support of these colleagues move us one step ahead towards the implementation of the electronic submission system.

In this issue, we have two papers in English. We greet the authors who allowed us to have papers in English for the third issue in a row. Nevertheless, it is very important that we raise the frequency of these papers in Horticultura Brasileira, aiming at increasing our impact. Our classification in the Qualis system depends primarily on our impact factor. We are routinely informing all authors, as their papers are accepted for publication, that the papers can be converted to and published in English. We expect that more and more authors positively react to this alert.

See you in the next issue,

The Editorial Board
