Abstract
This paper presents a description about critical pedagogy of Physical Education in anglophone literature. Its methodology is based on a review of international books and journals that publish articles on the topic in English language. The analysis shows the theoretical influences of that perspective and the criticism produced by - and against - the socio-critical discourse. It also provides an overview about its development in recent years. As an expression of the pluralism that characterizes it, the article also shows two current examples of critical pedagogy in the literature researched, focusing on the future challenges of that tradition.
